        • Paineiras Visitor Center (Official Van): Set your destination to Paineiras Corcovado at Estrada Paineiras, 1999 - Corcovado, Rio de Janeiro. An Uber can drop you off right at this visitor center, where you buy tickets and board the official national park vans for the final five-minute drive. [1, 2]

  • Hike to Pedra Do Telegrafo - hike an hour up the mountain - this is the sport where you see peole pretend to hang off the side of the mountain --- they do have someone up there who will take photos of you for tips of 5 riyals ($1 USD)

• • Mirante Dona Marta - sunrise views of the city - get there at 5am
• Photo Op Spots
  • Escaderia Selaron - take pictures at the colorful stairs - ground around 6:30am to beat the crowds
    • • After you explore Escaderia Selaron you can tabe an uber or hike 30 minutes up a long hill to Parque das Ruinas
        • Parque das Ruinas - has mansion, art gallery, views of Sugar loaf mountain, souvenir shops

  • Praia Ipanema - beach - pretty, white sand beach, tourists, vendors, great for sunset, walk down boardwalk to Pedro do Arpoador for sunset views wile sitting on the rocks -- food and drink vendors come to you
  • Copacabana beach - good on Sundays because they block off tsreets - - try corn stands (Mino verde, street corn $2), shops, and bars
  • Praia do Leblon - super crowded. Doesn't seem like the water is that blue.

  • science museum in Rio de Janeiro next to the waterfront at Pier Maua.

    • Churrascaria Palace - All you can eat upscale steakhouse near Copacabana -- looks like a nice spot
    • Braseiro - steak spot near Copacabana beach
    • CLOSED since June 2026 -Plage Cafe - get there right at 9am when they open up to take pictures - then have breakfast. You can also walk to a garden nearby
